The Ferrari 308, a collectors’ favourite. After all, this is the sleek and sharp two-door sports car that found international fame on the hit TV show, Magnum PI, with the show’s eponymous detective tearing around Oahu in the bright red convertible. For those of a certain era, the 308 is the model that first set the pulses racing when it was unveiled.
Genius was in the room when Pininfarina designer, Leornardo Fioravanti, penned the 308. One of his favourite colleagues, Giorgetto Giugiaro, described it as ‘close to perfect’. The model has aged superbly - the balance, the visual tension and the exquisite detailing, there isn’t a single bad angle.
Each variant offers a number of small differences, but what remains constant, however, is the 2.9-litre petrol engine that delivers responsive performance for the lightweight vehicle, with agility and a heart-stopping sound.
