British Superbikes (Final Round) Brands Hatch 8/9th October
Saturday turned out to be a very busy day at Foskers with crowds making their way into the circuit for the superbikes. All but a few can resist popping in to look at the huge selection of Ferraris. One particular visitor was an old friend and Ferrari dealer, Alan Rennie. Alan a fellow motorbike fanatic was at Brands Hatch for the last race of the British Superbike Championship.
Alan had in the back of his van the 1983/84 double senior Isle of Man TT winning Suzuki XR41, as ridden by Ron Mcelnea and later, Mick Grant. Alan had arranged to meet Rob Mcelnea at our workshop and re-introduce him to the bike after all these years.
Alan kindly unloaded the Suzuki XR41 into the workshop and fired it up for the customers and staff. The noise was fantastic! Needless to say this caught the attention of everyone here, the bike still retains its original livery and remains perfect and un-restored.
Alan has retired from Ferrari dealing now and spends his time restoring historic machines like this, and even the occasional early DFV Formula one cars.
Thanks Alan!
