On Sunday 10th April 2011 Ferrari Owners Club members descended on Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire for the AGM and prize giving lunch. Ian Barkaway, Head of Restorations collected The Luker Rowe Targa Veture Stradale Concours Trophy for the Foskers built 365 GT4 BB. This stunning Boxer won its class at the Ferrari Owners Club National Concours in July, one of four trophies awarded to this wonderful restoration project in 2010.
A second trophy was collected by Paul Brooks, the V12 trophy for achieving the highest points of any V12 in the 2010 Ferrari Open Racing Series. Well done Paul for a fantastic opening season racing the first 456 in the Ferrari Open!
The next day took a faster turn as the Foskers team headed for Silverstone to unveil the award winning now whiter than white 456 GT race car. Having undergone a winter diet the car is now lighter, upgrades include a front splitter, rear diffuser, rear wing, 6 pot brakes, new suspension design and carbon fibre front and rear bumpers.
The Foskers race team have been busy over the winter months and were pleased to uncover a second 456 race car at Silverstone. The second “white lightening” is being driven by experienced racer Nick Kaye. Similar in specification to car 22 it has a 6 point weld in cage, rear wing, front splitter, rear diffuser, 6 pot brakes, new suspension design, carbon fibre front and rear bumpers with a carbon Kevlar bonnet.
Jeff Fosker commented “both cars look absolutely fantastic, we can’t wait to see how successful the upgrades are when they race at Silverstone later this month”.
With passenger seats fitted we took clients and charity auction winners on track to show how fast these cars can go and they weren’t disappointed!
Thanks to drivers Nick and Paul for the “hot laps”, Stewart for assisting and the Ferrari Owners Club for an impeccably organised day.
Both cars are racing at Silverstone on Saturday 30th April, come along and see the excitement of Ferraris nose to bumper!
