Saturday 20th November was the date set for the Pirelli Ferrari Championship presentation dinner, after a very exciting seasons racing with Paul Brooks and the Foskers entered 456 GT, it was not a party we were about to miss.
With more than 130 people in attendance the room was packed with all the who’s who of Ferrari racing for the last 25 years. After a sumptuous 4 course meal our race organiser and still active competitor John Swift started the awards ceremony. All of this year’s competitors were presented with a branded pen knife, as a gift from Pirelli our tyre sponsors.
Paul Brooks had driven the 456 hard all season, driving a car without the modern drivers aids that today’s race cars have, often putting it amongst the 360’s and 430’s, as a result he constantly achieved podium positions. Pauls achievements are outstanding, considering he hadn’t been in a race car for over 20 years, add to this the fact the 456 didn’t actually get to race until May of this year the results are all the more impressive.
