Goodwood breakfast meeting

On Sunday 7th June 2009 Ben was up at the crack of dawn and heading towards Goodwood in the 308 followed by Richard in his RX7. The only problem was it was pouring down but the rainx was working well on the windscreen. They made it to the Goodwood paddock, just as the sun started to burn through the clouds. The 308 had been on a photo shoot a few days earlier and was looking shiny and mint but was now sitting in the paddock looking very dirty and dull, which was a shame, as most of the other cars on display suffered the same fate, although at least they were all being used.

Bacon rolls and coffee were required along with a wander around the paddock. Despite the early rain there was still an impressive assortment of toys to look at. Ben soon spotted the go track and it didn’t take much persuasion for us all to soon be charging around in a way only boys know how.

With the sun now shining more exotics arrived, including a new California and a 16m 430 Scuderia Spider. Goodwood is a fantastic setting to just wander, soak up the atmosphere and talk to like-minded petrol heads.

The journey home was a complete contrast, sun shining, roof off, roads sweeping through the countryside, overall well worth getting up early for.
