As always, we at Foskers will go to any lengths to satisfy our clients. Whilst we was talking to a client earlier in the summer, discussing the pros and cons of the older Ferrari vehicles, the client expressed a long time passion for the Ferrari Lusso. This started the Foskers think tank, working out how they could find the right car to satisfy the customer's dream. With Tony in full swing several cars were found and the list was narrowed down and Richard was dispatched to Paris with the customer to look at one on the short list.
After further discussions and negotiations the deal was done for what can only be described as the best totally original 250 Lusso we have ever seen. This is a 1964 car complete with tool kit, hand books, brochures, original guarantee card, great history file and only two owners, a perfect find, tucked away in an underground dry garage in the centre of Paris.
The next task was to secure the safe transportation of the car back to England. Richard set off at 6.00 am thinking Paris and back, how hard can that be? After what can only be described as the roughest ferry crossing in our history with winds and gales, this delayed him just enough to ensure he made Paris and the Periferic right about rush hour that evening! Large lorries and the centre of Paris traffic just don’t mix.
With the car checked and loaded under the watchful eye of a large Parisian crowd it was off back to England.
With more Parisian traffic and a long ferry delay due to the high winds, it was 5.30 am before he arrived back to unload the vehicle. It was rather a long day but truly unforgettable.
