Donington the Last Race of 2010

The Foskers team headed north to Donington for the last Pirelli Ferrari Open race of 2010. Team spirit was high as we arrived in Castle Donington and began setting up the car ready for qualifying. With a dry track the 456 was lowered by 15mm, made stiffer by 8% and given less rear camber, ready to face the Donington track.

Paul Brooks had his work cut out warming up the tyres as the Derbyshire temperature dropped. After a few great laps Paul posted a qualifying time of 1:21.416, 1st in class for qualifying.

A few minor adjustments were made to the 456 GT before the race. All fingers were crossed for a clean battle as the racing started. Paul got away well, managing to avoid the first corner track chaos, caused by a pirouetting 430 Challenge car.

With the race in full swing the real fun began as Paul began his regular tussles with Foskers friend Vance Kearney in his 355 Challenge race car. No sooner had Paul got passed the 355 Challenge, Vance would retaliate back and retake the lead. A clean battle ensued with Kearney before he held the position to the finish line. Paul drove faultlessly bringing the “Dark Horse” across the finish line 2nd in class, beaten only by the 430 GT3.

Foskers were pleased to welcome clients to the meeting, which incuded the owner of a beautiful 246 GT Dino, a car we restored in 2008. The stunning Dino received lots of attention and admiring glances in the Donington paddock.
